About the Artist
Mark Arbeit’s artistic voice is rooted in a lifelong impulse to create an instinct that has evolved, deepened, and reemerged with renewed clarity over time. His work reflects a continuous dialogue between past and present, shaped by years of exploration, pause, and rediscovery.
From childhood sketches to college explorations, he has worked across a wide range of mediums, including charcoal, ink, acrylics, watercolor, pastels, clay, and wire sculpture, continually expanding his creative vocabulary.
After earning a BA from Queens College and an MS from Adelphi University, both in New York, Mark transitioned into a successful corporate career. In 2019, he reignited his passion for art, marking a focused return to his creative roots.
This website reflects Mark’s artistic evolution since that resurgence. While oil painting is his primary medium, he also explores watercolor, acrylics, papier-mâché, and pastels.
Mark regularly exhibits his work at Art on Asbury Gallery in Ocean City, New Jersey, and the Hammonton Center for the Arts in Hammonton, New Jersey. Most recently, he was accepted as an Associate Member of the Riverside Renaissance Center for the Arts in Millville, New Jersey, where his work will be featured in upcoming exhibitions.
Mark resides in Margate City, New Jersey, with his husband of 23 years, Mitch Tannehill, and their three French Bulldogs.
